Game of arts is an event where entertainment is redefined through the great contribution of art and its enthusiasts. A concept where one would expect the fusion of social gathering for entertainment with variety of art (paintings, sculptures, photographs).

The event will be taking place at the private opening of Chateau Bouffémont and its spectacular gardens, just 25 km outside Paris.

The price of the event includes an art exhibition of 15 artists, a cocktail dinner , the entrance fee to the massive after party and a 10% of ticket sales goes to a charity helping children.

Christie’s New York is holding a Japanese and Korean Art Auction on September 11th, 2012. Prior to the auction, we will exhibit its highlights in Tokyo, including a screens formally Fusuma-e by Hasegawa Tonin, screens of Festivals of Itsukushima Sumiyoshi, and collections of Noh masks and Tsuzumi drums.

San Diego Artrepreneurs Pardon My French are hosting the official after-party for one of the largest attended and most anticipated cultural events in San Diego, the Art SD Contemporary Art Fair. Pardon My French is a social movement designed to elevate the caliber and profile of San Diego’s art scene by raising the bar in every area.

This event benefits our charity partner, San Diego based nonprofit organization A Reason To Survive (ARTS), who use all art forms as a vehicle to create positive, long-lasting change in children and youth facing major life challenges – giving them not only a reason to survive – but to also thrive. Pardon My French has the pleasure of featuring a variety of local artists, including San Diego’s own rising star Celestine. In addition, we are featuring the work of young artists from ARTS, which will be available for purchase with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the organization.

The BOA Gallery will be hosting a unique exhibit this August featuring the works of sculptor Pal Kepenyes combined with the paintings of Christopher Butler.California native Christopher Butler’s work combines the mediums of film and painting through digital imaging, an extraordinarily unique process which involves capturing an image on 35mm film, and projecting the negative onto a screen, filtering it with gelled movie lights, rendering incredible results which are captivating, colorful, and haunting.

Through his portraits, he explores the relationship with famous, iconic persons in history, alongside the people responsible for their death. Christopher was raised by a family of cinematographers, who taught him to see with the eye of an artist. Over the years, several noted celebrities have requested their own portraits done by Butler, and he continues to perfect his one-of-a-kind technique.

Pal Kepenyes is a Mexican Sculptor whose sculptures are touchable, movable, and interactive, as if they were alive! His collection of gorgeous bronze sculptures have been exhibited previously in Los Angeles, and his work has been exhibited in Budapest, Paris, London, Tokyo, Berlin, Canada, as well as other US cities.

The city of Acapulco, where he resides, sponsored him to create a contemporary art piece for public display.

The exhibit will be on display from August 3rd – August 18th, 2012. Opening reception will be hosted at the BOA Art Gallery on August 3rd, at 7:00PM. Complimentary beverages will be served.

KESTING/RAY is pleased to announce its upcoming exhibition in the open, a group show featuring five emerging artists who recently completed their Masters in Fine Arts from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. in the open highlights works by Mark Farris, Hannah Holshouser, Paul Howe, Gabriel Serpa, and Harry Swartz-Turfle. The exhibition opens on August 2nd and runs through August 18th. A reception for the artists will be held on Thursday, August 2nd, 7–9pm at KESTING/RAY Bushwick, located at 257 Boerum Street, Brooklyn NY.

Pi Artworks hosts six Iranian artists in the video art exhibition titled “Rewind, Pause, Fast Forward: Mirrors on Iran”. Video works of Morteza Ahmadvand, Mahmoud Bakhshi, Pedram Baldari, Simin Keramati, Neda Razavipour and Farniyaz Zaker can be seen both at Pi Artworks Galatasaray and Pi Artworks Tophane between the dates June 29th – September 29th, 2012.
The exhibition holds a mirror on Iran through moving image. Six videos from six artists who are born in and live in Iran reflecting the realities of their country from different aspects.
In his video titled “Simorgh”, Morteza Ahmadvand starts off an Iranian Sufi story about the birds in search of Simorgh, where only some strong birds achieve finding in the end. Mahmoud Bakhshi puts himself in the place of a soldier in the military who serves  under the flag; “Military Service Under The Flag” reminds the act of a soldier in military service who must do special tasks repeatedly. Pedram Baldari’s “Fatiha” (an Islamic word that comes from two chapters of Qoran) exposes a religious rituel in a different and critical context.
In “School Diary” Simin Keramati handles the school concept as “a safe place to have fun in order to learn all the basic terms” after the violent actions experienced in Iran and different parts of the world. Neda Razavipour’s video “Find The Lost One” invites the audience into a game, a sick game for a cynical society; the game is to find the lost one, in Tehran. Farniyaz Zaker argues the similar role of the veil and window for women, although the materiality of both are different in “Puppet Behind The Curtain”; producing unreal spaces for women.
It must be inevitable for those artists to create under the effect of the special social and political conditions they experince since years. Telling their own stories through the monitor of their own social realities gives audience the chance to observe the different experiences.
“Rewind, Pause, Fast Forward: Mirrors on Iran” can be seen at Pi Artworks Galatasaray and Pi Artworks Tophane till the 29th of September, 2012, between the hours 10:30-19:30 except Sundays and Mondays. (0212.293.71.03)

Lahd Gallery is proud to present to you the Arabic influenced Greek artist Irini Gonou in A Tale of Two Cultures. Using her teaching from the Ecole des Beaux-Arts and Ecole des Arts Décoratifs of Paris, Gonou uses sculpture to portray her research in world culture, and the way in which she explores it.
This unique exhibition is an art quest which seeks to address and explore the healing and protective power of the written word as a specific cultural idiom and takes the form of a dialogue between the Greek and Arabic cultures. Using entirely natural materials such as textiles, fired clay, reeds, leaves, seed pods, eucalyptus bark and linen twine, Gonou makes her interpretations of amulets and clothing, magic bowls and talismanic objects whose poetry evoke a new magical language or realm of “written protection”.
The two cultures, Greek and Arabic, with their distinctive indigenous scripts, are seen in dialogue with a continuous and life-affirming exchange and cross-fertilisation of influences.
